As I have mentioned before, our house needed a lot of work when we bought it. Slowly but surely we have seen things come together. We still have a ways to go, but out latest project was our kitchen. And when I say "our" I really mean my dad. He and my mom came and put in beautiful new countertops to replace our old, purple (Yes, purple!) tile countertops. My dad spent the entire day tearing out the old countertops, installing the new countertops, installing a new sink and faucet (this alone is evidence of his great love for me as he hates plumbing) and putting up a new back splash. His energy astounds me. He does amazing, beautiful work and I am in awe at the talents he possesses. As a little girl I remember thinking there wasn't anything my dad couldn't do. Turns out I still think that. And I was right. Thanks Mom and Dad for our beautiful new kitchen!!
The before. Good bye ugly, purple tile that gets gross crumbs of everything stuck in it!! Seriously, who thinks tile countertops are a good idea for a house with children living in it?!
Demo!! If anyone besides my dad and David had been tearing up my kitchen like this, I think I would have had an anxiety attack.
The beautiful after!
My massive new sink! I LOVE it! This picture doesn't really do justice to the size. My mom says they have clients that tell her they could fit a baby calf in that sink. Rest assured that will never happen in my house. But it could. The sink is that big.
Crashing after a long day of hard work.
